School reopening arrangements for pupils

31 December 2020

Dear parents and carers,

This evening at 5pm I received an email from the Department of Education.

Further to my email this morning to all parents and carers please read the following information carefully:

Nursery pupils - following guidance from the Department of Education our nursery unit will be open from Tuesday 5th January from 8.45am to 1.15pm as normal. If you decide to not send your nursery pupil into school to minimise risk we understand your personal decision. Please note that all nursery pupils who are attending school next week should wear their school uniform and bring a packed lunch. I have received no information about free school meals so please ensure that your child has a packed lunch with them.

P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6 and P7 pupils - following guidance from the Department of Education our P1 to P7 pupils will no longer return on Tuesday 5th January 2021, as originally planned. Instead, pupils will partake in remote learning from Tuesday 5th January to Friday 8th January. If your child has lost or forgotten their remote learning login details please contact Mrs Taylor by email on [email protected]It is expected that all pupils will be in school full time from Monday 11th January for face to face teaching.

Key workers children and vulnerable pupils - school will accommodate vulnerable children and the children of key workers from Tuesday 5th January to Friday 8th January from 9.00am to 2.00pm. If you are a key worker or your child is classed as a vulnerable child and you require your child(ren) to attend school next week please fill in this online form by Sunday 3rd January 2021 at 6.00pm. I will then liaise with you directly regarding support arrangements. Please note that key workers children and vulnerable children will be kept in their class bubbles and will be supervised to complete the remote learning activities in their own classroom if possible. Please note that all key workers children who are attending school next week should wear their school uniform and bring a packed lunch. I have received no information about free school meals so please ensure that your child has a packed lunch with them.

Please fill in the online form to register: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=-yeCOETeDkaBkAVAK4mNqE6IZGSWWw5Fr-cwGloPHtpUNUdIQVJRNEIwMEpXRDZYN1U5M0JRNjhDOC4u (please note that the online form closes on Sunday 3rd January at 6pm)

Whilst this is not the start to the term we had hoped for, the health and safety of the whole school community is paramount. Thank you for your ongoing support in these extraordinary times and best wishes.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Taylor
