Nomination and Election of Parent Representatives to the

Board of Governors for the 2018 – 2022 Term of Office

You are invited to attend a meeting of parents to be held in Mrs Smyth’s classroom on Friday 22nd June at 3.15 p.m. for the purpose of electing two parent representatives to the Board of Governors.

The following points should be noted:

  • BOTH parents of each pupil attending the school are entitled to be present and to vote at the meeting.
  • each parent is entitled to one vote in respect of each vacancy.
  • should you wish to nominate a person(s) as parent representative(s), please use the nomination forms available from the school office. After obtaining a seconder, who must be a parent of a child at school, and the agreement of the candidate, you should return the forms to me by Wednesday 20th June. The reply slip should also be returned by this date. The governors are responsible for various aspects of the management of the school and a leaflet which outlines their roles and responsibilities will be available with the nomination forms. Prospective candidates will also be given information to help them prepare a personal statement which should outline why they wish to become a governor and may include reference to skills and experiences considered useful to the school.
