Shared Education
We are happy to announce that we have been able to secure funding this year for a Shared Education project with St Colum’s Primary under the PEACE IV Collaboration and Sharing in Education Project for Primary 1 and Primary 2 pupils to participate in.
For a number of years, we have participated in a Shared Education partnership with St Colum’s Primary School which featured Primary 5, Primary 6 and Primary 7. We are now able to extend this partnership to include Primary 1 and Primary 2 classes.
By working in partnership with St Colum’s Primary School it affords our children the opportunity to meet and learn with young people from a wider range of different backgrounds. We intend to meet with our partner school for different curricular-based activities and shared classes throughout the year and we will keep you informed of the dates and content of all of these sessions.
Please sign and return the permission slip by Friday 15th November if you are content that your child participates in shared education activities. If you have any concerns about the involvement of your child in shared education, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Taylor who will be happy to provide more information about our plans.
The focus of the Shared Education project for Primary 1 and 2 will be play based learning, Forest Schools and Beach Schools initiatives. The first planned session for pupils to meet is Tuesday 19th November in Portstewart Primary School for icebreaker session.
