P7 - Post Primary applications

Dear Primary 7 parent/carers,

DIGITAL ADMISSIONS SEPTEMBER 2021 INTAKE

Post primary admissions applications will be processed online this year. It has been confirmed today that online post primary applications will open at 12 noon on 1st March 2021 and close at 4pm on 16th March 2021. In previous years the application procedure was a written form which would have been completed in January. This year the Education Authority has informed us that the application procedure will be online. 

Further information on the process will be available on the EA website from 2nd February 2021. Parents will be provided with information from EA through ourselves in Portstewart Primary School. 

The online application will allow parents to enter all of the required information to apply for post primary place. If a child sits an Entrance Test (i.e. AQE), the results can be entered on the online application. The results certificate will then be uploaded. Likewise, any claims for Special Circumstances or Special Provisions will be uploaded with the online application. 

For those children who have a Statement of Special Educational Needs, parents will be contacted in the usual way by Special Education during the Special Needs Transfer Review process. 

At present parents/carers do not need to take any further action. This email is just to highlight to you what the process will be and to indicate to you that the online application procedure will not start until March 2021.
