Dear parents/carers,
Message about PE days for each class
On days that your child has PE lessons, pupils should come to school wearing their school jumper, school polo shirt and plain navy tracksuit bottoms, and trainers. We would request that all pupils wear plain navy tracksuit bottoms (with no marks, lines, or logos on them) for PE days so that we can make this the formal PE uniform for Portstewart Primary School. Pupils can also wear their PE uniform on days that they are participating in a sports afterschool club.
On the days that pupils are not participating in PE it is expected that pupils will wear full school uniform with black school shoes. Pupils in our Nursery Unit should wear their normal Nursery uniform each day which is appropriate for outdoor play and physical movement.
Please find below the details of which day your child/children will have PE lessons:
Nursery - Outdoor play/physical movement activities each day (wearing their normal Nursery uniform)
Primary 1 (Mrs Simpson's and Mrs Barr's class) - PE on Wednesdays and Thursdays
Primary 1/2 (Miss Gilmore's) - PE on Wednesdays and Thursdays
Primary 2 (Mrs Lindsay's class) - PE on Mondays and Fridays
Primary 3 (Miss McCurdy and Miss Scott's class) - PE on Tuesdays and Fridays
Primary 4 (Miss Anderson's class) - PE on Tuesdays and Fridays
Primary 5 (Mrs Bovaird's class) - PE on Mondays and Fridays
Primary 5/6 (Mrs Rankin's class) - PE on Wednesdays and Fridays
Primary 6/7 (Mrs Baillie's/Mrs McGuigan's class) - PE on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Primary 7 (Miss McAfee's class)- PE on Thursdays and Fridays
When swimming lessons are organised for P5=P7 pupils this information will be communicated to parents of pupils in Primary 5 to Primary 7. Pupils can wear PE uniform on days that they are going swimming.
We received very positive feedback from both pupils and parents last year that wearing the PE uniform to school worked very well and meant that children did not need to change in school to participate in Physical Education lessons.
Many thanks,
Mrs K Taylor
