P7 Events and P7 hoodies
Dear parents and carers,
Shared Education Trip
On Friday 17th June we will be heading to the Giant’s Causeway with St. Colum’s Primary School. Pupils will be leaving school at 9am sharp and will be returning at 2.45pm. P7 will need to bring a snack and a packed lunch on this day. Pupils should wear PE uniform on Friday 17th June. Pupils are reminded to bring a rain coat on this day and to wear sensible footwear.
P7 Leavers’ Day
We plan to hold a special P7 Leavers' Celebration Fun Day for all of our P7 pupils on Friday 24th June 2022. This will involve going swimming in Coleraine Leisure Centre, heading to Jump Lanes in Coleraine, having games/activities on the school field and special treats throughout the day.
Pupils should arrive at school on Friday 24th June wearing their PE uniform and bring the following items with them:
- swimming kit and towel
- a change of their own clothes for outdoor games (please note that older clothes would be appropriate for participating in water games and activities on the school field).
- a water pistol (if your child already owns one)
- an extra towel or spare jumper/hoodie to change into if they get wet!
Pupils will travel by bus from school to Coleraine Leisure Centre and go swimming and then go to Jump Lanes. Afterwards pupils will return to school and have games/activities on the school field, some of which will involve water! Pupils will have their normal break and lunch in school. With added surprises throughout the day. The cost is £5.00 per pupil which covers the swimming, Jump Lanes and travel costs. This can be paid via ParentPay or by bringing in £5.00 in a sealed envelope into school.
P7 Leavers’ Assembly
We are also currently preparing for our Special Leavers’ Assembly on Monday 27th June. We ask that any child who has not sent on Seesaw to their teacher a picture of them in Nursery/P1 to please do so. Parents are welcome to attend this event on Monday 27th June at 1.30pm.
To confirm pupil/parent attendance at any of the above events, please complete the reply slip which was sent home on or before Monday 13th June 2022.
P7 Hoodies
As your child approaches the end of their primary school education, we thought it would be a nice idea for them to be able to purchase a keepsake in the form of a personalised Leavers Hoodie. These have proven popular with previous year groups. We have had problems with our suppliers and would have liked to have offered the option of a leaver hoodie earlier in the summer term. The hoodies will be royal blue with our school logo, and optionally your child’s initials, on the front. This year’s design will have all our P7 pupil’s names in the figure 22 on the back.
There is no obligation to buy a hoodie, but should you wish to purchase one please follow the steps below.

- Scroll to the bottom of the home page and click on the logo Portstewart Primary School
- Click on the picture of the school leavers hoodie
- Add your child’s initials (optional choice)
- Choose your preferred size of hoodie
- Choose how many hoodies you would like to purchase
- Press ‘add to cart’
- Checkout and pay for your hoodie.
Child size hoodies are £20 and adult sized hoodies are £25. You can order online from Wednesday 8th June – Monday 13th June. After this date, there will be an additional £5 charge for any hoodie purchased.
