Dear parents and carers,
Both Ms Murray (our P4 teacher) and Mr Kennedy (our P5 teacher) have unfortunately made the decision to move on from Portstewart Primary School and will be officially finishing on 31st August 2022. We thank both of them for their hard work and service to our school. We will miss them both but we wish them well for the future.
Mrs Kidd, one of our classroom assistants is also leaving at the end of July and we thank her for all her hard work over many years.
As we are a growing school and due to the rising number of pupils joining our school we have been granted an additional teacher for next academic year by the Education Authority. This is a temporary post but it will help to reduce some of our class sizes. We will therefore have ten classes next year instead of nine.
We are also going through a period of restructuring within the school and some of our teaching staff will be moving to teach a different class. This includes Mrs Lindsay who normally teaches in the Nursery. Mrs Lindsay will be moving to work in the main primary school.
We are therefore in the process of advertising for a Key Stage 2 teacher, a Nursery teacher, a cleaner, and two Special Needs Classroom Assistants. I will keep you informed as posts become filled.
